When we began the process of starting Safe and Secure Home care; we began to think like a “client” or consumer, and not as business owners. We discussed the criteria that we would have.

Feel Safe and Secure

Our caregivers are licensed and bonded. They are required to undergo random drug testing, and we perform a background search that is more in-depth than the minimum state requirements. Our background checks will include any and all arrest history, including any financial misconduct issues, and will be conducted by an independent, licensed private investigation firm.

Do you do a background check on your caregivers?

Yes.  While the state of Florida requires any caregiver to have a Level 2 Background check, we also do our own more comprehensive National background check on every caregiver we hire. In addition, we review every caregiver's driving history to ensure they are equipped to drive our clients if and when necessary.  Every caregiver must also pass a drug screening.

Are you open on the weekend?

Yes.  Our office is open 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, however, a live person is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Do you provide Nursing services?

No.  We are a non-skilled agency.  We employ Certified Nursing Assistants, Home Health Aides, and Companions.

Can you drive me to appointments?

Yes.  We run a driving history on every caregiver we employ to make sure they are suitable to drive you or your loved one for shopping trips, doctors appointments, outings, etc.

 

Are your caregivers contracted?

No.  All of our caregivers are employed by Safe and Secure Home Care.

Do you carry insurance for your agency?

Yes. As an agency, we are required to carry Liability and Malpractice Insurance.tc.

What kind of services do you provide?

We provide Attendant Care and Homemaker/Companion Care services.  Please click on this link to view a comprehensive list of the services provided.  

Do you have a minimum amount of hours?

Yes.  Our minimum hours for a shift is 3 hours.

 

What kind of insurance do you accept?

We are private pay, however, we do accept Long Term Care Insurance.  We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid.

How much does it cost?

For our Attendant Care (Hands-On), the hourly cost is $21/hour, for one person. If we are caring for two people, for example, a husband and wife, there is an additional charge of $2/hour.  For our Companion Care (No Hands-On), the hourly cost is $19/hour, for one person.  If we are caring for two people, there is an additional charge of $2/hour.

We provide Attendant Care Service in the following counties: Lake, Marion, and Sumter County

We provide Home Maker/Companion Service in the following counties: Alachua, Bradford, Citrus, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Hernando, Lafayette, Lake, Levy, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Putnam, Seminole, Sumter, and Suwannee County.
